Our favourite cocktail recipes using the Highland Boundary’s Birch & Sloe liqueur.

Our rich flavoured Berry & Sloe liqueur has been a favourite for a while. From Summer  to Winter, there’s always something you can pair it’s deep, rich fruity taste with. Whether it’s something fizzy, or simply over ice.

However, our Highland Boundary Birch & Sloe liqueur has also inspired some of our most delicious cocktail concoctions. 

Let’s take a look at some of our favourite cocktail recipes featuring our Birch & Sloe liqueur. 



Wildwood cocktail

A tasty celebration of a natural wildwood - the trees, fruits and flowers in colourful harmony. Sounds simply delicious! 

To get started, pour crushed ice into a glass. Followed by our Birch & Sloe liqueur, lemon juice and elderflower syrup. Give it a stir then top with soda water. Drizzle with the cherry (or bramble) liqueur and garnish with a tangy slice of lemon. 


  • 50mls Birch & Sloe Liqueur 
  • 25ml Lemon juice
  • 25mls Elderflower syrup
  • Cherry (or Bramble) liqueur 
  • Soda water
  • Crushed ice
  • Lemon slice for garnish

Sloe Spritz

Sloe spritz cocktail

One of our latest Birch & Sloe combinations. We’re adding a berry twist to a classic spritz. 

Pour champagne or sparkling wine into a tall glass then add a dash of soda water, ice and top with our Birch & Sloe liqueur. Stir and garnish with a slice of lemon. It’s that simple! 


  • 150mls Champagne or sparkling wine
  • 100mls soda water
  • 50mls Birch & Sloe Liqueur
  • Ice
  • Slice of lemon to garnish


Magical Negroni 

Magical negroni cocktail

Taking the essence of sloe berry, fruit of the Blackthorn tree, and using it to add a berry twist to a classic Negroni cocktail. 

Grab your trusty cocktail shaker and add Highland Boundary’s Birch & Sloe liqueur, Birch & Elderflower spirit, the sweet vermouth and ice. Shake well to fuse all of the flavours together. Finally, strain the mix into a glass over ice, add a slice of orange to garnish, then sit back and enjoy!


  • 25ml Birch & Sloe Wild Scottish Liqueur
  • 25ml Birch & Elderflower Spirit
  • 25ml sweet vermouth
  • Ice

A Sweet Summer Day Dream Part 2

A sweet summer day dream part 2 cocktail in front of driftwood

Not only is this cocktail recipe a favourite of ours because of it’s refreshing blend of flavours. But, also because it is part of our collaboration with the lovely Scents of the Wild who create vegan and eco-friendly candles here in Scotland. 

To create this pretty pink drink, pour ice cubes, the Birch & Elderflower Spirit, Birch & Sloe liqueur, lemon juice, rose-petal syrup, rosehip syrup and apple juice into a cocktail shaker. Give it a good shake then strain into a glass and serve. Add a slice of lemon to garnish and If you’re feeling extra fancy, add a few rose petals.

Rosy Glow

Rosy glow

A lovely Winter warmer cocktail!

One of our latest additions to the Birch & Sloe cocktail collection is the Rosy Glow. A wonderfully Autumn and Winter inspired drink - best served on a cosy night in. 

Start by pouring the Birch & Sloe liqueur, Birch & Elderflower spirit, apple juice and bramble juice into a saucepan and gently warm. Try not to boil. Rim the glass with a wedge of orange and coat with sugar. After a few minutes on the heat, take off the saucepan and pour carefully into the glass. Garnish with bramble and a slice of orange and you’re good to go. 

Warning: this cocktail recipe is sure to fragrant your kitchen with a wonderfully festive scent!

  • 50mls Birch and Sloe Wild Scottish Liqueur
  • 25mls Birch and Elderflower Wild Scottish Spirit
  • 50mls bramble juice
  • 150mls apple juice
  • Bramble and orange slice to garnish
  • Orange wedge to sugar rim the glass
  • Powdered sugar
